# Social Buddi docs

> Buddi knows your customers. Ask from your own agent (Claude Code, the Claude app, Codex, Hermes, OpenClaw), in plain words, and get back what your buyers say, the ads in your market, the creators they watch, and who to reach out to.

Buddi listens on TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, X, LinkedIn.

## Get started

1. Connect your agent.
   - Claude Code, in a terminal: `claude mcp add --scope user --transport http buddi https://api.socialbuddi.com/mcp && claude mcp login buddi`
   - Claude app: In Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector. Paste `https://api.socialbuddi.com/mcp`, press Connect and sign in.
   - Codex, in a terminal: `codex mcp add buddi --url https://api.socialbuddi.com/mcp && codex mcp login buddi`
   - Hermes, in a terminal: `hermes mcp add --url https://api.socialbuddi.com/mcp --auth oauth buddi`

Your browser opens to sign in and allow. Signing in the first time creates your account.
2. Tell Buddi about your product. Ask your agent: "Read socialbuddi.com/llms.txt, then set up Social Buddi for my product." Setup is free.
3. Ask anything below, in plain words. Your agent picks the tool.

## Your customers' words (tool: ask)

What your buyers, or anyone you might sell to, say about anything: complaints, wants, why they switch, what they think of a brand.

Try: "What do freelancers complain about when sending invoices?"

- **How many said it**: The number of people behind the answer.
- **Grouped by what they say**: What they want, the problems they describe, what they went through, what they advise, what they like, what they think. Each group with how many people.
- **Their exact words**: Real quotes, each with a link to where it was said.
- **Where they say it**: Which platforms and which communities, so you know where to show up.
- **Who they are**: The kind of people talking, and the words they use for the problem.
- **What to do next**: One concrete step: a hook to test, a place to post, or who to talk to first.

Example (made up): 412 people across TikTok and Reddit. The problems they describe (164): "Every invoicing app wants $20 a month for one feature." What they look for (97): "Something that chases late payments for me."

Good to know: Name a platform to hear only from it, or name two to compare them side by side. People selling something are left out; people asking for a freebie are counted apart.

## Ads (tool: ask)

The ads a brand is running, yours or a competitor's, and which ones use creators.

Try: "What ads is Notion running, and which ones use creators?"

- **The ads running now**: On Facebook and Instagram, and on LinkedIn for business brands, each with a link.
- **How long each has run**: Days running, so you can see which ones they keep paying for.
- **The angle**: What each ad leads with, in a few words.
- **Creator ads**: Which ads have a creator speaking for the brand, and how many of all their ads that is.

Good to know: Name the brand, or paste its website or Facebook page link for an exact match.

## Creators (tool: find, kind: creators)

The creators your buyers already watch, to sponsor, brief or learn from. Up to 10 a question, biggest first.

Try: "Find creators that busy moms who meal-prep watch on TikTok."

- **Who they are**: Name, handle, platform and a link to their profile.
- **How big**: The views a video of theirs usually gets, and how steady those views are.
- **Your buyers in their comments**: How many of their commenters are your buyers, and what share want what you sell.
- **What they post about**: Their topics, and one example post.

Example (made up): @mealprepmama · TikTok · usually 180K views, steady · 64 of her commenters are your buyers, 38% want it solved · posts about Sunday prep and budget meals.

Good to know: The biggest creators your buyers watch are always included. Brand, shop and repost accounts are left out. Ask again for creators you haven't seen yet. On LinkedIn you get the people your buyers follow and engage with.

## Leads (tool: find, kind: people)

People to reach out to now, each with what they said. Up to 25 a question.

Try: "Who should I reach out to among owners of small law firms fed up with intake?"

- **Sorted warmest first**: People asking for a fix or a recommendation now, then people describing the problem as their own, then the right people in the conversation. The newest first in each.
- **From the last week**: Only what people said in the last 7 days, unless you ask for the last day or the last month.
- **Who**: Name, and their title on LinkedIn.
- **What they said**: Their own words, the day they said it, and a link.
- **Where to reach them**: A link to their profile.
- **Why they're on the list**: The criteria used, shown with every answer.

Good to know: Sellers, competitors and job posts are left out. Ask again for new names only. Buddi never messages anyone: you reach out yourself, from your own account.

## Your buyer groups (tool: setup)

The groups of people who buy from you. Buddi keeps them, so later questions know who you mean.

Try: "Set up Social Buddi for acmenotes.app: a note-taking app for students."

- **What you send**: Your website or app link, your social handles, one line on what it is and who buys it, and the language your customers post in.
- **What you get**: Each group of buyers, named and ready to ask about right away.
- **Change it any time**: Add a group, drop one, or send a new line when who buys changes.

## Credits

1 credit is 1 cent. Plans: Free 500 credits a week; Starter $30/month for 2,000 a week; Growth $200/month for 12,000 a week; Pro $1000/month for 64,000 a week. A week's credits come back every Monday.

- **A question about your customers**: Usually 10 to 20 credits. An answer in a minute or two.
- **Finding creators or people**: Usually 35 to 90 credits.
- **A deep question**: Up to 500 credits. Ask for "a deep look" for many more people; it takes a few minutes.
- **Setup, and a question that finds nothing**: Free.
- **Added credits**: On a paid plan, add any amount: $1 buys 100 credits. They never expire and are used after the week's credits.

Good to know: If you run out, Buddi tells you in plain words and what gives you more.

## Your data

What Buddi does and doesn't do with your account and the people it finds.

- **Never posts or messages**: Buddi doesn't post, like, follow or message anyone.
- **Never spends your money**: Your agent can't buy anything. Plans and credits change only on socialbuddi.com, by you.
- **Only your brand**: Your agent sees answers for your brand, and only people on your account can use it.
- **People aren't stored**: Names and quotes in an answer are for you; Buddi doesn't keep files on the people it finds.
